Project Update No.1 | Hilton Garden Inn | Moncton, New Brunswick

The final touches are well underway in what will be the second major hotel being built just across from the 8,800 seat Avenir Centre that’s home the to Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL) and the Moncton Magic of the National Basketball League. The centre also doubles as a concert venue that’s seen the likes of Keith Urban, Jack White, Bryan Adams and Def Leppard go through its doors.

The 117 room Hilton Garden Inn which is slated to be open next month is one of the several major projects that we are currently working on in Moncton, N-B. Located at 40 Highfield Street, the brand new 4-story building will be equipped with a heated indoor saltwater mineral pool, restaurant and a sunlit meeting room that fits up to 163 people.

Our foreman Paul Pelletier and his 8-man team have been working at this location for quite some time now. The focus was fitting the building with all of its electrical needs such as the main electrical service entrance, all of its wiring throughout, data communication wiring and terminations, supply and installation of all lighting fixtures, equipment wiring and terminations, outside pole lighting and building lighting, furniture electrical terminations and more.

The building is now connected to its main power source and our team is putting the final touches on the light fixtures, devices and equipment terminations located in the main common areas and hotel suites.

Some of the highlights of this project were these unique light fixtures supplied and installed by LuMar Electric. As you can see, the Hotel has been fitted with uniquely shaped lighting in some areas to match the mosaic patterns found on accent walls in the main area. The main common room is also being fitted with 7 large round chandelier-style lights with multiple candle-like pendants that should give guests the perfect lighting for any type of event.

Surrounding the building are beautiful decorative lighting fixtures that give ample light to key areas such as the side access entrance and the underground, heated parking lot.

Having seen this project come to light firsthand has been quite a fulfilling experience as we love seeing our downtown core transform into a more “big city” look. Our team is made up of several locals that have been in Moncton all their life, so being able to participate in building new restaurants, large chain hotels, high-end apartments and residential projects has been an extremely rewarding experience.

With more projects like this coming to our city, our team will be busy fitting commercial & residential spaces with modern lighting fixtures, supplying power to buildings and working on all types of electrical-related jobs such as underground electrical, backup power and data/communication systems.

Stay tuned for more project updates from our numerous teams of electricians working in and around Greater Moncton, N-B.
